The Basics
Registered Name: Knight’s Ransom
Nickname: Ransom
Age: 2 years
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour & Markings: Bay
Height: 15.1
Gender: Colt
Personality: Ransom is arrogant. He’s the king of the stable and he knows it. For a short horse, he has a mean temper. It’s like he has a napoleon complex. There’s only one person at the stable who he tolerates to be near him, who happens to be his groom, and now rider. He’s not too fond of other horses, so he has to be in a pasture by himself. He does get along with the pet goat on the farm strangely enough. So the goat goes along with the team whenever they’re traveling with him. The only times he’ll tolerate another horse is when they’re in the saddling paddock and even then, he barely tolerates them, or during workouts. He seems to accept that the other horses are there to stay and he begrudginly ignore them. Honestly, it’s a miracle he hasn’t been gelded yet. But hopefully in time he’ll calm down.
Luckily for the team, he’s able to turn his aggression into a desire to win when he’s in a race. He won’t try to bite a nearby horse though if one tries to pass him, but he’ll try his best to keep the lead. He prefers to run as a frontrunner, rushing out to the front open the gates open. He loves the attention he seems to think he gets from the crowd when he's in front. He hates being caught behind the pack, which gets him frustrated and that's not a good thing with him. If he gets frustrated, he shuts down and he practically gives up. Either that or he acts up and tries to bulldoze through the pack. Obviously that’s not acceptable, so we’re trying to break him of it. He’s not so great at listening to his rider either, such as if they tell him to do something he doesn’t want to do. He'll fight with them if his rider tells him to go around and he doesn't want to. He'll slowly learn though, that it's not always the best option to go against his rider.
